Doron Award 2023
PD Dr. med. Natalie Urwyler will be awarded the Doron Science Prize by the Swiss Foundation for the Doron Prize as a woman scientist and academic.
The prize is awarded not only for her professional career, but also for her commitment to equality. This #STEM woman with an international career has been at the origin of various normative changes, developing case law for equality and public service laws!
Since then, based on her own experience, Natalie Urwyler has strengthened her commitment to equal opportunities in the Swiss workplace. In 2020, together with three other women, she founded the organisation StrukturELLE, which works for equality, good governance and transparent structures in the workplace. In this capacity, StrukturELLE also supports women who have to go to court to have their rights respected.
Natalie Urwyler has not wavered in her commitment and has continued her fight for equal opportunities for all women with consistency, courage and endurance.
"Natalie Urwyler is a tireless and persistent advocate for women's equality in the workplace. By founding the organisation StrukturELLE, which promotes projects to implement equality in the workplace, Natalie Urwyler has made a decisive contribution to the abolition of structural inequalities in the treatment of women", explains the board of trustees in justifying its choice. The President of the Federal Commission for Women's Issues and former Lucerne State Councillor Yvonne Schärli-Gerig will give the laudatio.
