_edited.jpg)
Joëlle de Sépibus, former Associate Professor of Public International and European Law at the Universities of Fribourg and Bern, works as an attorney in Fribourg and Lausanne. She previously spent several years contributing to the drafting of leading decisions of the Swiss Federal Supreme Court.
Alongside her legal practice, she teaches climate law and green industrial policy at the College of Europe in Bruges, the University of Lausanne (UNIL), and EPFL.
For many years, she has been actively committed to equal opportunities and fair institutional structures. As President of the Equal Opportunities Committee of the Faculty of Law at the University of Bern and as Vice-President of the Staff Committee of the Swiss Federal Supreme Court, she advocated for transparent procedures, respectful workplace cultures, and equal opportunities for advancement. This commitment continues to shape her work today.
“Excellence and integrity are never a given. They are built within institutions that are willing to question themselves, to listen to criticism, and to protect those who have the courage to speak out about wrongdoing. They flourish where transparency is not merely a word but a lived practice, and where responsibility is exercised with humility and courage, day after day.”
