Genre & Numérique
The “Égalité de genre et transformation numérique” project was born out of the observation that these two themes are treated as institutional and societal issues without points of contact between them, which significantly limits their scope in the short and long term.
By combining expertise in the fields of equality promotion, digital technology, social sciences and humanities and entrepreneurship, the project team intends to lay the foundations for a sustainable connection between these issues, both within the universities and in the interaction between them and the city.
Designed to run for three years, the project aims to:
- to establish a state of the art on the mutual effects of digital transformation and gender bias
- to encourage innovative approaches that put digital technology at the service of equality
- to study concrete ways of supporting women's careers in the digital sector
- to study concrete ways of supporting women's careers in the digital sector
- to propose good practice guides in this area
Several types of activities will be developed (conferences, collaborative working groups, speed-mentoring, video clips featuring interventions by specialists in the field, etc.) in order to meet these objectives and to strengthen the social visibility of this theme.
Towards gender equality in the digital world?
The first meeting of the project “Égalité de genre et transformation numérique” will take place on 8 and 9 September 2022 at the Fribourg School of Engineering and Architecture. (plan d’accès)
This event, which is free and open to all, is envisaged as a first opportunity to bring together actors from scientific research and the promotion of equal opportunities, as well as from digital companies and the worlds of associations and politics. It will be punctuated by round tables, conferences and working groups. Many moments will also be devoted to networking and sharing experiences.
The programme is still under development, but you can already register: Inscription
